The Snapchat Connector delivers audience data to Snapchat Ads Manager, enabling you to create Custom Audiences for targeting in Snapchat ad campaigns.

Overview

The connector pushes your audience data to Snapchat, where it becomes available as a Custom Audience in Snapchat Ads Manager. You can connect multiple Snapchat profiles, each scoped to a Snapchat Business organization, and view the ad accounts available under each connected profile. You can also connect an opt-out dataset that removes users from every Snapchat audience your account delivers to.

Requirements

Account access

  • A Snapchat Business account
  • Access to Snapchat Ads Manager
  • Your Snapchat organization ID (a UUID from Snapchat Business Manager → Business Details)
  • Appropriate permissions to create Custom Audiences

Supported identifiers

Your data must include at least one of these identifier types, mapped to the corresponding Rosetta Stone attribute: The connector also accepts the generic mobile_id_unique_identifier attribute when its type resolves to one of the identifiers above.
Hashed identifiers must use SHA256. See Hashing PII for Upload for formatting requirements.

Installation

1

Navigate to the connector

In Narrative, go to Installed Apps and select Snapchat Connector.
2

Create a profile

In the Profiles tab, click New Profile and provide:
  • Profile name — a unique name to identify this configuration
  • Description (optional) — a note describing the profile’s purpose
  • Organization ID — the UUID of the Snapchat Business organization this profile represents
3

Authorize with Snapchat

After the profile is created, click Connect to Snapchat and complete Snapchat’s OAuth flow. Narrative polls for authorization and marks the profile as Connected once a valid token is issued.
4

Review ad accounts

Open the profile to view the ad accounts Snapchat returned for the authorized organization. Click Refresh to re-fetch ad accounts from Snapchat if new ones have been added.

Managing profiles

Each profile is tied to a single Snapchat organization and its own OAuth token:
  • Connected — the profile has a valid Snapchat OAuth token and is ready to receive deliveries.
  • Refresh advertisers — re-seeds the profile’s ad accounts from Snapchat, useful when accounts change on the Snapchat side.
  • Archive — removes the profile from the list. Archived profiles can no longer be used for deliveries.
If Snapchat returns an error while loading or refreshing ad accounts, the profile page displays the error message returned by Snapchat instead of failing silently.

Opt-outs

The Opt Out Configuration tab on the connector page connects a dataset of opted-out users to Snapchat. Identifiers in the dataset are removed from every Snapchat Custom Audience your account delivers to; the connection itself names no ad account and no audience.
1

Open the Opt Out Configuration tab

In Installed Apps, open Snapchat Connector and select the Opt Out Configuration tab. The tab lists the datasets currently feeding opt-outs, with the dataset id and name for each connection.
2

Connect a dataset

Click Connect a dataset. The picker offers datasets that carry at least one identifier column Snapchat’s audience delivery reads and that aren’t already wired up as an opt-out source.
3

Select a profile

Opt-out connections attach to one of your enabled Snapchat profiles for bookkeeping. The connector resolves a Snapchat token per segment at delivery time, so the profile doesn’t scope which audiences receive the opt-outs — every audience your account delivers to is covered. You need at least one enabled profile before you can create an opt-out connection.
4

Confirm the opt-out

A confirmation names the dataset you picked and the connector it applies to. Connecting it opts every identifier in the dataset out of Snapchat and cannot be undone, so check the name before you click Accept.

Audience membership duration

Membership duration is how long a delivered identifier remains active in the destination audience before the destination platform expires it. It is distinct from the dataset’s retention policy (which governs data stored in Narrative) and the interface’s refresh window (which governs how stale the source dataset may get). The retention is fixed when the Snapchat audience is created and the connector never updates it afterward. Changing the setting on the connection later does not affect an audience that has already been created.
