The TikTok Connector delivers audience data to TikTok Ads Manager, enabling you to create custom audiences for advertising on the TikTok platform.

Overview

The connector pushes your audience data to TikTok, where it becomes available as a Custom Audience for targeting in your TikTok ad campaigns.

Requirements

Account access

  • A TikTok for Business account
  • Access to TikTok Ads Manager
  • Appropriate permissions to create Custom Audiences

Supported identifiers

Your data must include at least one of these identifier types, mapped to the corresponding Rosetta Stone attribute: The connector also accepts the generic unique_id and mobile_id_unique_identifier attributes when their type resolves to one of the identifiers above.
Hashed identifiers must use SHA256. See Hashing PII for Upload for formatting requirements.

Installation

1

Navigate to the connector

In Narrative, go to Installed Apps and select TikTok Connector.
2

Authenticate with TikTok

Click Connect and authorize Narrative to access your TikTok for Business account.
3

Select your Ad Account

Choose the Ad Account where audiences will be created.

Audience membership duration

Membership duration is how long a delivered identifier remains active in the destination audience before the destination platform expires it. It is distinct from the dataset’s retention policy (which governs data stored in Narrative) and the interface’s refresh window (which governs how stale the source dataset may get). The connector does not set an expiration on delivered identifiers or audiences — TikTok manages audience validity entirely on its side, and the connector has no setting to control or extend it.

Opt-outs

The Opt Out Configuration tab on the connector page connects a dataset of opted-out users to TikTok. Identifiers in the dataset are removed from every TikTok audience the connection’s profile delivers to; the connection itself names no ad account and no audience.
1

Open the Opt Out Configuration tab

In Installed Apps, open TikTok Connector and select the Opt Out Configuration tab. The tab lists the datasets currently feeding opt-outs, with the dataset id, dataset name, and connection id for each connection.
2

Connect a dataset

Click Connect opt out dataset. The picker offers datasets that carry at least one identifier column TikTok’s audience delivery reads and that aren’t already wired up as an opt-out source.
3

Confirm the opt-out

A confirmation names the dataset you picked and the connector it applies to. Connecting it opts every identifier in the dataset out of TikTok and cannot be undone, so check the name before you click Accept.
Opt-out connections attach to a TikTok profile that has completed authorization, because the connector uses that profile’s token to issue the removals. You need at least one connected profile before you can create an opt-out connection.
